Grupo Piñero advances in its digitization hand in hand with BWD

Grupo Piñero, an international tourism company, has relied on BWD, a company specialized in digital transformation, to continue evolving in the development of the digitization process of its back-office. In this sense, both companies have recently signed an agreement by which a project focused on data extraction and automation of the verification process of invoices received from Grupo Piñero has been launched. In this way, BWD will digitally process an approximate volume of 250,000 invoices per year.

Thanks to this digitization operation, Grupo Piñero will have the automatic integration of its invoice data in the ERP. An action that, in turn, also represents an important contribution to the central axis of the tourism company’s business strategy: sustainability. And it is that, this digitization process allows significant savings in paper consumption by the Group, something that has a direct impact on the field of sustainability and specifically on the environmental commitment.

Regarding the agreement, Jorge Ortega, partner and director of the firm BWD in Spain, has assured that: “We are delighted with this collaboration. Being able to help in the digitization of one of the leading international tourism companies and with such a large volume of work, given the different business divisions it manages, is a challenge that we assume with responsibility and emotion.”.

For his part, Mateo Ramon, CIO of Grupo Piñero, pointed out “Digitization is a priority for our company. Being able to digitize 100% of our invoices will allow us to update our accounts in real time, as well as being able to apply the different flows that the operation demands..” To which he adds, “Thanks to the collaboration with partners such as BWD, we will be able to get closer to our goal”.

The services associated with this agreement, which began at the end of last year, will have an initial validity of four years and its application is phased according to the different countries where the service will be incorporated. In this way, in 2021 it began at the group’s headquarters, located in Palma de Mallorca, and during 2022 it will gradually expand in Spain, the Dominican Republic and Jamaica.
