According to information relayed by the Insider Gaming site, Activision was the victim of an intrusion on its servers in December 2022. Sensitive documents were stolen during the operation. In particular, there is a calendar detailing all the content to come to Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 in 2023.
While it posted 25 million players on PC and consoles in November 2022, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 no longer attracts crowds. Indeed, the exodus is massive, since there were only 102,000 regular players on Steam in January 2023, compared to 223,000 when the game launched last October.
In hopes of reigniting community interest in Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer and Warzone 2.0, a new season has just opened its doors. On the program, classified clashes, new maps, five new weapons, and many other novelties to put in their mouths.
Of course, we suspected that Activision and Infinity Ward still had something to do to encourage players to stay on MW2 for the coming year. And quite rightly, we just learned more about the studio’s plans for 2023.

Here’s all the content coming to Modern Warfare 2 in 2023
As revealed by our colleagues on the site Insider GamingActivision’s servers were the victims of an intrusion on December 4, 2022. Obviously, the attackers managed to obtain administrator access through a phishing campaign. They took the opportunity to seize certain sensitive documents, starting with the roadmap of upcoming content on Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0 until November 17, 2023.
In particular, we discover the release windows for the next multiplayer seasons of the title:
- Season 3: March 15 to May 15, 2023
- Season 4: May 15 to July 16
- Season 5: July 17 to September 14
- Season 6: September 15 to November 8
Mid-season updates (the famous MAJ Reloaded) would also be on the agenda. But that’s not all since these documents also announce the arrival of seven additional multiplayer maps, which include reissues of iconic maps from previous games. On this subject, a new map dedicated to close encounters would be planned for season 4.
Players would also be entitled to a special Halloween event called “Haunting of Saba”, while each season would be marked by the integration of a new operator under “license” (a star, a character from the cinema, etc.). Finally, the studio would have planned no less than 240 new paid skin packsor 70 per season.
Other important information, the calendar in question mentions dates for an unknown project responding to the code name Jupiter. Is this the Call of Duty Premium episode scheduled for 2023 and developed by Sledgehammer Games? The question still remains. Of course, iIt will be advisable to take all of this information with tweezersfor lack of official statements from Activision.
