Halo Infinite surpasses 20 million players, an all-time high for the franchise

Halo Infinite is a hit. As just announced by the official account of the license on Twitter, the last episode records the best start of the saga with more than 20 million players since its launch. Of course, the availability of the title on the Xbox Game Pass has a lot to do with it.

Good news for Microsoft and 343 Industries, Halo Infinite stands out as one of the undeniable hits of this end of 2021. As the official account of the license on Twitter has just announced, the last installment achieved the best start of the saga with more than 20 million players recorded since its launch on December 8, 2021.

A great performance, especially when you know that the title comes from afar. It should be remembered that the first gameplay extracts did little to reassure the players, the fault of a dated and failed graphic rendering. In the face of widespread criticism, Microsoft made the wise decision to postpone the release of the game for a year, thus giving the teams of 343 Industries time to correct the situation.

It remains to be seen whether this figure only includes the solo version of the title (sold at €59.99) or whether it also includes players who have accessed the title via Xbox Game Pass or/and via free multiplayer on Steam. For our part, we praised the experience offered by Halo Infinite, starting with its solid, nervous and fun gameplay. However, we noted some pitfalls regarding its open world, desperately empty, and denounced the lack of key features of the saga such as the possibility of doing the campaign in cooperation and the Forge mode. We will have to wait until May 2022 to take advantage of it unfortunately.
