Hasbro Is Releasing The Original ’70s Star Wars Figures

George Lucas will always be remembered as that genius who revolutionized Science Fiction cinema, but we all know that he did it with an evil purpose: to make a fortune by selling figurines from the Star Wars universe. Lucas practically started what we know today as merchandiseand this adventure began with the toy company Kenner in 1977. Almost 45 years later, Hasbrothe current owner of said company, has decided re-edit the first set of Star Wars figures.

Hasbro’s classic toys are back

It seems incredible, but someone has decided to re-release a classic and they are not going to do it in the form of NFT -take notes, WillyRex-. Almost five decades have passed since Kenner teamed up with George Lucas to release the first Star Wars toys. Millions of sets were sold in its time, and many of those who were young at the time have a lot of affection for this set of figures.

The original package contained six characters from A new hope, among which were Luke, Princess Leia, the inseparable Han Solo and Chewbacca, a Stormtrooper and Darth Vader. It is still possible to get one of these original sets unopened and in good condition online, but you will no longer need to take out a mortgage to get one. Hasbro has decided to re-produce the pack in a traced way. This means that very soon, we will be able to go to a store and get the same Kenner set. With the same figures, the packaging that became so popular in 1977 and also the same details on the box with an identical typeface. An experience that will be similar to getting into a time machine.

Hasbro has been reissuing Kenner classics for some time

Escape from the Death Star

However, this from Hasbro is not new. The company has been releasing retro Star Wars dolls for quite a few years now—even retaining the Kenner logo. In fact, they re-launched ‘Escape from the Death Star’, a mythical board game that was very popular all over the world, and that came to Spain thanks to Borrás.

Kenner’s original line of Star Wars action figures included other characters from A New Hope not included in this six pack. Nonetheless, the toy line continued throughout the original trilogy. We are clear that this Hasbro reboot is going to be a success, so we look forward to the rest of the sets of the time being relaunched as well.

So you can get a unit

All this was announced, how could it be otherwise, the past May 4th, the famous ‘Star Wars Day’ (May the 4th). The six-pack was shown on Hasbro’s Fan First stream alongside a replica of Obi-Wan’s lightsaber and a 1:1 scale Darth Vader helmet from the original.

Star Wars retro action figures will be available for purchase book next May 26 at Hasbro Pulse and Disney Stores. Acquiring a unit is going to be quite difficult, so we can only tell you one thing: may the Force be with you.
