Owen Wilson officially joined LaKeith Stanfield And Tiffany Haddish in the new Disney film project based on the attraction of the Haunted Mansion (formerly used as a cue for the 2003 adaptation with Eddie Murphy). Wilson will be one of the protagonists of the film and, as you may have all done, my thoughts immediately went to the horror film of 1999, Haunting – Attendance; one of the few cases in which the actor has not acted in a comedy.
Owen Wilson will star in the new Haunted Mansion movie
Justin Simien (Dear White People And Bad Hair) will direct the film, which should start shooting next October in Atlanta. This is his first film in a high-budget studio and he will direct the film based on a script written by Katie Dippold.
There are no details to share with you about the new film yet, but what has been revealed is that it will follow “A family that moves into the villa. However, it is the characters around that core who will have a large portion of the moonlight shining on them ”. Which, in fact, isn’t much.
Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich, who produced the Disney remake of Aladdin, are producing the film which, at the moment, does not yet have a release date on the calendar.
