Hawkeye: Jeremy Renner was about to turn down the role of Hawkeye

Just as the Marvel series now finds itself in the center of attention of Disney + subscribers, a recent video interview released by Jeremy Renner to Vanity Fair revealed that the actor had nearly turned down the role of Hawkeye in the MCU.

Jeremy Renner was about to turn down the role of Hawkeye, for a very particular reason

“I remember going to speak with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios Co-President Lou D’Esposito” the actor told during the interview. “There they showed me the version they wanted to make of Hawkeye and, with Iron Man just out, I said I liked what they did with Iron Man. I loved Iron Man, they made Iron Man plausible.”

Then, however, doubts arose about the role he should have played with Hawkeye and… about how.

“They said something like, ‘Great! You’re going to do a lot of Avengers movies and other potential Hawkeye movies, somehow you sign a contract for the rest of your life. ‘ And that’s when I realized and thought: ‘Wait, I could be 50 and walking around in tights. This was my first concern. I don’t know if I want to do it and that someone will see me in tights at 50. “

Of course, now we are all happy that Renner has decided to wear that tights.

But when a threat from his past arises, Hawkeye unwillingly allies himself with Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld), a skilled 22-year-old archer and huge fan of his, to expose a criminal conspiracy.

Directed by Rhys Thomas and the duo of directors Bert And Bertie, the TV series also sees participation in the cast of Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton And Alaqua Cox, to which is also added Florence Pugh in the role of Yelena Belova, character who has already had the first “contact” with Hawkeye during the Black Widow ending.
