Apparently, the third season of Hilda, the Netflix animated series based on the graphic novel of the same name Luke Pearson, will have to wait, as a special film based on the adventure of Hilda and the Mountain King, the volume released in bookstores around the world in 2019.
Hilda and the Mountain King will become a movie for Netflix
This film will pick up the narrative where it left off with the second season, picking up a few short stories that were omitted so far in the Netflix adaptation.

The adventure in the stone forest was exhausting for Hlda, her mom and Twig. Hilda vows to stop going on an adventure alone and that night falls into a deep sleep… but when she wakes up she finds herself back in troll territory, and this time with no one to help her! How did it get there? Will he be able to return to Trolberg? And what does the fearsome mountain king have to do with this story?
Our hope is that the film doesn’t mark the end of Hilda on Netflix, still with no announcement of a real season 3 despite winning two Emmy Awards and the show’s overwhelming critical and audience appreciation.
It’s really a shame that Netflix didn’t promote the series more.
