Honor 50 and 50 Lite land Google Play services inside

Honor has been silent for a while when it comes to releases, but is finally back to introduce us the new Honor 50 and 50 Lite, the first two terminals of its new family that are committed to covering the mid-range and high-end segments with terminals highly focused on photography and performance, while maintaining the brand’s usual tremendously cheap prices.

All this together with the great announcement of the return of the Google Play Store, something that if many users take for granted as part of the basic Android experience, has been the reason for the latest headaches of the brand. And it should not be forgotten that the Chinese company had to abandon its parent company to be able to recover the integration of these services to its phones, without being under the watchful eye of the United States government.

Presented in the Chinese market a few months ago, we are facing a high-end phone that is committed to show your premium orientation from your own design, with a distribution of main cameras in which two large round islands stand out on which the main camera rests on one side, and the rest of the lenses and flash on the other.

And it is that one of the main sections of this new family is precisely photography and video, equipping the Honor 50 a quad camera setup comprised of a 108 MP main camera, an 8 MP wide-angle camera, a 2 MP macro camera and a 2 MP depth camera, accompanied by up to three microphones for better sound reception when recording videos.

Turning inside, we find Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 778G 5G processor, which enables excellent performance and power consumption along with exclusive innovations such as GPU Turbo X and Hunter Boost modes Honor to further unleash the potential of the chip, further improving its performance, and ensuring a faster and smoother user experience.

Honor 50 Lite

For its part, the Honor 50 Lite comes under a somewhat different design, with a main camera system arranged in the central part of its rear, with a square format distribution inside a large round island, very similar to the design of Huawei Mate 30 phones.

Thus, we find ourselves with a premium mid-range terminal that, despite having a fairly modest 4G processor, stands out in other virtues such as its large screen and resolution, its photographic section with a 64 megapixel main lens, and the same battery as its top model, with up to 4,300 milliamps with a 66-watt fast charging system. All this again accompanied by the integration of Android 11, with its custom layer, and all Google services.

Availability and price

The Honor 50 will open its pre-sale next November 2, available through the brand’s online store under a base price of 529 euros for its 6 and 128 GB version, and a range of colors to choose from among Frost Crystal (white with glitter), Emerald Green (green), Midnight Black (black) and Honor Code (silver, decorated with Honor logos).

As for the Honor 50 Lite, it will not arrive until the month of December, available again first through the official website of the brand, at a price that will start from 299 euros of its 6 and 128 GB version, with a range of colors Deep Sea Blue (blue), Space Silver (silver) and Mindnight Black (black).
