A few days ago, Honor announced the imminent arrival of the Magic V, its first foldable smartphone that will compete directly with Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 3. The famous Digital Chat Station leaker has just given some information about the technical characteristics of the device.

The leaker notably confirmed that the Magic V would be the most powerful folding smartphone on the market, since it will be the first to be equipped with Qualcomm’s new high-end Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. It would therefore be much more powerful than the famous Galaxy Z Fold 3 from Samsung or the new OPPO Find N which was recently launched in China.

What do we know about the technical sheet of the Honor Magic V?

According to information from Digital Chat Station, the Honor Magic V will be equipped with two screens. The internal screen would offer a refresh rate of 120 Hz, while the external screen will be satisfied with 90 Hz.. According to previously leaked information, the screens could measure 8.03 inches and 6.45 inches, respectively, but we’ll have to wait for the official presentation to find out more about this.

Digital Chat Station also announces that the Honor Magic V will be equipped with a 50 MP main camera, which will allow it to offer excellent photo performance. We also learn that the battery will be compatible with 66 W fast charging, far from the 25 W of the Galaxy Z Fold 3.

As of yet, it’s unclear when exactly the new Magic V will be unveiled, but the presentation should take place early next year. Although Honor can now preinstall Google applications on its devices after being freed from the US embargo imposed on Huawei, we imagine that the foldable smartphone will be reserved for China. Indeed, Honor could find it difficult to compete with Samsung’s aggressive tariffs if the device were to arrive in France.
