Honor presents its very first folding smartphone: the Magic V

Honor is one of the brands that is on the rise in 2021. So to start 2022 it presents its first folding smartphone: the Magic V.

The start of 2022 will therefore have been marked by many releases, each more interesting and surprising than the next. While CES 2022 has just finished giving pride of place all week to automotive concepts and innovations of all kinds, with the Asus Zenbook Fold. But the Taiwanese brand is not the only one to want to enter the folding market.

Indeed, since the arrival of Samsung’s Galaxy Fold, the smartphone world is turning more and more towards folds. While Microsoft has presented an amazing product with the Duo, other brands are entering this emerging market.

Magic V: the folding smartphone by Honor

Today it is therefore the turn of the Chinese Honor to make a remarkable arrival in the world of folding smartphones. With the Magic V, the Shenzhen brand is launching the very first 5G folding smartphone in its history. This high-end phone will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest processor, the Snapdragon 8 gen 1.

As for the screen, the Magic V offers a 6.45-inch primary screen. When unfolded, the phone offers a stunning 7.9-inch display, with a refresh rate of 120Hz. Honor is proud to announce that this screen is the very first for a phone to achieve IMAX certification.

A very above-average camera

Another very important point for Honor which makes all the prestige of this phone: its camera. The Chinese brand explains having offered its smartphone a photo block of 3 cameras on the back. The main lens offers 50 MP while the front camera is capped at 42 MP offering three different photo modes: HDR, Zoom and Night.

Finally with regard to the battery, Honor announces a breathtaking autonomy thanks to its battery of 4750 mAh. But the strong point of the latter is really shown when recharging. Supporting up to 66W, and the Honor SuperCharge system, the company announces that the phone is able to recover 50% of its battery in just 16 minutes on the mains.

For the moment, the brand has remained very vague concerning the release and the price of its phone. In the press release announcing the product, Honor simply announced that it will be “available for the Chinese market in the coming days.” No release planned in France for the moment, but given the small revolution that the smartphone represents, the brand cannot deprive Europeans of such a product.
