Honor has just teased its first smartphone with a foldable screen. Soberly dubbed Magic V, the phone is built around a screen that folds inward, much like Samsung’s Z Folds. Everything suggests that the presentation of the flagship is imminent.
Freed from its parent company Huawei, Honor is making a comeback in the high-end smartphone market. The Chinese brand, which has become fully independent, has notably launched the Honor 50 and the Honor 60 to confirm its return to premium.
Best of all, Honor is now free to preinstall google apps on its terminals and to use chips produced by American firms, such as the essential Qualcomm. In this context, the Chinese firm has accelerated the development of its first foldable phone, mentioned several times by the leaks.

In a post on Sina Weibo, the Chinese social network, Honor has just announced the imminent arrival of its foldable smartphone. Contrary to rumors, the phone is not called Magic X or Magic Fold but Magic V. Not surprisingly, this name refers to the format of the smartphone.
On the published poster, we realize that Honor opts for a form factor similar to that of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 or Xiaomi’s Mix Fold. This proven design transforms the phone into a small tablet and protects the touchscreen when the device is folded up. According to previous leaks, Honor turned to BOE Technology, a Chinese firm specializing in display panels, to design the foldable screens for its terminals. When unfolded, the screen would measure up to 8 inches.
Moreover, the technical sheet of the device is still entirely unknown. It is assumed that the brand will use a recent and high-end Snapdragon chip to power the phone, like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. We tell you more as soon as possible about the Magic V. While waiting for more information, feel free to give your opinion in the comments below.
