This analysis shows that the Spanish consumer opts not only for a low or medium terminal but also for one that has dual SIM and autonomy with 5,000 mAh battery. These specifications are met in 100% of the cases of these 5 best-selling smartphones. In 80% of these there is also fast charging, a fingerprint sensor, a 6.5-inch screen, more than 64GB of storage and 4GB or more of RAM.

All of them are specifications in which consumers are putting their eyes to select that smartphone that they carry in their pocket. Options where autonomy, storage and the screen are the undisputed protagonists.

In the case of those who opt for a terminal high-end, 69% select a iPhone. The Apple family of smartphones takes most of the market above 750 euros during the third quarter of 2021. There it leaves little space for Android devices.

5G smartphone, little interest yet

Despite the efforts of telcos to plague the news media and the push from manufacturers with technology that can take advantage of this mobile network, Canalys is clear: Spain still does not have a smartphone ecosystem ready for 5G.

In fact, none of the best-selling models has this feature, which shows the still low interest of consumers, despite the fact that it is a factor with which brands seek to differentiate themselves.

At a general and more global level, the forecasts in the 5G environment are very positive. In two years, more than 1 billion users are expected to browse this technology, which will triple cloud revenues by 2025. Looking ahead to next year, it is forecast that 681 million 5G smartphones and more than 10 million tablets or laptops that support this mobile network.
