To buy applications on the Mac, the first thing you will need is to have an activated Apple ID. This ID is entered when we activate the Mac Pro for the first time, and thanks to it, we will be able to access all the content of Apple products and services. Not only buy applications, but also make use of apps like FaceTime, or services like iCloud.
When we create an Apple ID, it is free. However, to make purchases we will need to add a payment method. This payment method can be through bank cards or through Apple gift cards. When we add a payment method, Apple will not charge us anything. We can even download apps without adding payment methods. But, yes, these applications have to be free.
When we have our Apple ID on the Mac and we have assigned a payment method, the next thing we will need is to have an internet connection. With the computer connected to the network, with the session started with our Apple ID and with a payment method, now all that remains is to enter the App Store.
Buying apps is intuitive
When we first enter the App Store, it’s time to familiarize yourself with the interface. However, it is an extremely simple process. We can search for applications by their category and by their price. But also, Apple presents us with those applications that are most downloaded in the store. Paid apps are found in a list called Top Paid Apps. However, if we do not find the one that interests us, we can use the search engine to find the application that we want to buy.
When we have already found an app that interests us, we have to click on it to see the description. When the application page opens, we will have to click on the price. When we do, the button will change from blue to green, and the Buy app message will appear. In the same way, we can also click on the price button without having to enter the app page. However, it is always good to consult the information before downloading anything.
If we click on the Buy app button again, a window will pop up asking us to log in with our Apple ID. The first thing that appears to us is the email with which we have created our Apple account. When we click on the blue buy button, we may be asked to enter the password. If your Mac has TouchID, it may ask you to identify yourself using your fingerprint. When we have done all this, the application will start downloading and will be available on the Launchpad. When the download has finished, all we have to do is open it and we can use it without any problem.
