How to customize Gmail: learn how to change your inbox wallpaper

THE Gmail has several possibilities to modify the default interface, allowing each user to have a personalized email service. Here, we have already taught you how to make some of these changes, how to create sections to prioritize incoming messages and create tabs to separate incoming emails.

In this step by step you will learn how to add a new theme as wallpaper, giving the email a “new look”. Look:

How to Customize Gmail Background Theme

1) Click on the gear symbol located in the upper right corner of the screen to open the “Quick Settings” menu. In Theme you can click on one of the eight options available to give your email a new “face”.

2) You can also click on “View All”, to open other available options (a pop-up with the new images will open, as shown in the image below).

3) Once the option you like the most is selected, click on “Save” and that’s it, your inbox will have a custom background theme, as shown in the image below.

Modifying the design: how to change theme details

1) With the new theme chosen (other than the default Gmail), it is possible to modify some other details within See all. There are three options that are enabled in the lower right corner of the pop-up: (1) text background(two) add a vignette and (3) blur the chosen imagerespectively.

1.1) In Text background (the first icon in the list, represented by the square with the letter ‘A’), you can choose between “light” and “dark”. This makes the box where the messages are kept with one or another color. The differences you can see below:

1.2) In add a vignette (the square icon with an oval symbol inside), you can move the ruler, causing the edges of the screen to darken. Moving the ruler to the left will leave no shading, and moving the ruler to the right will make the border shading larger and larger.

1.3) In Blur the chosen image (the dotted square icon), you can move the ruler to adjust the blur of the background image. As with the vignette ruler, moving it to the left will make it unblurred, and moving it to the right will make the subject photo blurry.
