Set up iCloud Photo Sharing
To create and share a photo album, you’ll need to set up iCloud Photo Sharing on your iPhone. You can do it by following the steps below.
- First go to the app settings on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
- Select Photos.
- Enable Shared Albums.
How to Share an Existing Photo Album on iPhone
To share an album with others, you have to create a shared album instead of a regular album. So if you already have a photo album you want to share, you can easily do so by copying the photos to a new shared album.
- First launch the Photos app.
- Select the album you want to share.
- Choose Select > Select All.
- At the bottom left, click the icon Share.
- press Add to shared album in the popup menu.
- touch Shared Album and then New Shared Album. Instead of making a new shared album, you can also add images to an existing one.
- touch Following after giving your shared album a title.
- Add the people you want to share the album with.
How to Create a Shared Album on iPhone
To create and share a photo album, you’ll need to set up iCloud Photo Sharing on your iPhone. With iCloud Photo Sharing, you can easily create it and invite others to share your photos.
- open the app Photos on your iPhone and select the Albums tab in the bottom menu.
- Play the icon + on the Albums screen, then select the option New shared album.
- In the next frame, Give your shared album a name and click Next.
- touch the button Create to add a shared album to your iCloud account.
Why can’t I share an album?

How to add photos and videos in the shared album?
Once you’ve created a shared album, you may need to add or import photos and videos from your iPhone to that album.
- First launch the Photos app, select the option albums in the bottom menu, then scroll down and select your shared album.
- touch the symbol + once you are in the shared album.
- Click on Ready after selecting the photos you want to share with others.
- To add the selected photos to the shared album, tap Post.
How to manage subscribers and notifications in a shared album?
Once you’ve created and shared an album, you can manage the way subscribers interact with the album. This allows us to configure how you receive notifications of new photos or videos in your shared album and how others can add your photos or videos to the album.
- First start the app Photos > select the Albums option > scroll down and select your shared album.
- Tap the tab People at the bottom of the screen, then do any of the following:
- Add new subscribers: Tap Invite people, then type the names of the subscribers you want to include. Subscribers who have been added can add photos and videos to the album. If you disable the Subscribers Post button, then you are the only one who can upload photos and videos.
- Delete subscribers: tap the subscriber’s name, and then tap Remove subscriber.
- Disable notifications: Select the Notifications option. Tap a second time to enable notifications.

In addition to managing subscribers and notifications in a shared album, you can also edit other settings. For example, you can change the album nameadd captions to your photos or videos, delete comments or even delete the shared album.
Steps to rename a shared album
- Start the app Photos > select the option albums.
- Scroll down to Shared Albums under Albums, then tap See everything.
- Tap Edit, select the album name, and type a new one.
Steps to delete photos, videos and comments
- To delete photos and videos: tap Select on your shared album. Select the images or videos you want to delete, then click the trash can icon.
- To delete comments: touch and hold the comment on a shared photo, then tap the delete button.

When viewing your shared albums list, you can touch Edit and then the option Eliminate to delete a shared album. When you delete it, it is removed from all your devices, as well as your subscribers’ devices. If the Public website option is enabled, the shared album is also removed from the web. Why can’t I see the photos in a shared album?
Here are some possibilities why you’re having trouble viewing photos.
- Your iPhone does not meet the system requirements. To use shared albums, you need iOS 7 or higher.
- Photos cannot use mobile data. Go to Settings > Cellular and turn on Photos to allow Photos to use mobile data.
- The iCloud Photos service is down. Check if iCloud Photos is working by going to Apple’s System Status page.
- There is not a good Wi-Fi connection. Try using your cellular data or connect your iPhone to another Wi-Fi network.
How to share photos using My Photo Stream?
My Photo Stream is an iOS feature that allows you to automatically upload and sync your photos across all your devices. It’s a great way to keep your photos backed up and accessible from anywhere.
Once you’ve set it up, any new photos, except Live Photos, that you take on your iPhone are automatically uploaded to iCloud and then downloaded to your other devices, including your Mac, iPad, and iPod touch. You can also download all the photos from your stream to your Windows PC.
My Photo Stream only saves your photos for 30 days as it doesn’t use any iCloud storage. Also, if you have a shared streaming album, photos you add to that album will automatically appear on your friends and family’s subscribed devices.
- Go to the app Setting.
- then select Photos.
- Choose Carry in my photo sequence in the menu.
- My Photo Stream will appear as its own album in the Photos app. Go to the My Stream album and select the icon Share > Save Picture to save a photo.
