The HP Dev One is truly unique as it comes configured with Pop!_OS and is aimed especially at developers. Said operating system is, as some of our readers probably know, a Linux distro that can be downloaded and installed completely free of charge, and that was developed by System76.
We can say without fear of being wrong that the HP Dev One has been the first laptop, beyond those launched at the time by System76, that has launched a computer configured with Pop!_OS, and as we have anticipated, it is specifically designed for those professionals dedicated to the world of development.
At the design level, the HP Dev One has an elegant and discreet line, with minimalist nuances and a markedly angular finish. It looks like a compact and quite slim device, and it seems to be finished in aluminum. As far as hardware is concerned, the HP Dev One scores at a good level, thanks to its AMD Ryzen 7 Pro APUits 16 GB of DDR4 3,200 MHz RAM and its 1 TB PCIe NVMe SSD.
Unfortunately, no further details have been released about which exact generation of Ryzen APUs the HP Dev One will use, and we also don’t know what speed the HP Dev One’s SSD will be capable of working at, but we imagine that it will mount a Ryzen 5000 or 6000 series APUsand that its SSD will live up to the rest of its specs.
As far as the screen is concerned, we know that it will come with a 14 inch panel with anti-reflective treatment, and which will have 1080p resolution. We can also see in the cover image a web cam and integrated microphones, which means that this equipment will be prepared to offer a good experience working and making video calls, without having to add any peripherals.
We still don’t know when it will hit the market, but we already have its price: $1,099, a figure that at the exchange rate should become, after applying taxes, in about 1,199 euros. We will give you more information when we have it.
