HP introduced secure Fortis laptops for schoolchildren

It is impossible to argue with the fact that giving a child a computer, tablet or laptop is tantamount to subjecting the device to “torture” and extremely rapid death. This is well understood by such a tech giant as HP, which in this regard announced that it is launching a new line of rugged Fortis laptops, designed just the same specifically to withstand abuse from even the smallest students.

As such, the new lineup of laptops and 2-in-1s starting at $349 offers enhanced durability over conventional laptops, including spill-resistance, reinforced ports, and a rubberized finish to protect against falls and bumps. What’s more, HP engineers even decided to add a special textured surface designed to make it easier to grip the laptop and prevent it from falling due to the fact that it accidentally slips out of your hands. Well, the new metal case does help protect the laptop battery from damage in the event of a device being dropped.

It should also be mentioned that specifically in order to protect against children who are constantly “fidgeting”, HP decided to install a new keyboard with a “full skirt”. And of course, the keys themselves have been modified in such a way that it is much easier to remove them. It also cannot be ignored that since schools are breeding grounds for bacteria, HP pursued the idea in developing the Fortis series of notebooks that it can be wiped down with standard household cleaners. This, of course, was implemented in each of the new products. As for the devices themselves, the HP Fortis G10 14-inch Chromebook is actually the cheapest of them all, starting at $349.

By the way, it is available for purchase right now. And if you delve into the technical characteristics of the device, then it comes with a display whose resolution is 1366 × 768 pixels. However, it can be scaled up to 1920×1080 if you decide to purchase a model with a touch screen. The processor is one of Intel’s Celeron and Pentium chips, up to 8 gigabytes of RAM and 128 gigabytes of eMMC storage, as well as one of the built-in Titan C security chips. And of course, even the most affordable model has Wi-Fi 6 support. In terms of connectivity, they include one USB-C port for charging and data transfer, two USB-A ports, one HDMI, a headphone/microphone combo jack, and a microSD card reader.
