HP introduces the P900 portable SSD and other storage products

HP has presented news for its storage line at Computex 2023. And it is that, without being specialists, the large PC manufacturers also produce storage devices that they mount on their own computers or that they sell separately.

The HP Portable SSD P900 It is the most interesting of what is presented. It is a fairly compact external solid state drive, with dimensions of 71 x 52 x 8.6 mm and a weight of 60g, so it can be easily transported and connected to almost any PC since it uses a port as widespread as USB.

Externally it connects to a Type-C port and internally it works on the USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 interface. Very, very fast, achieves sequential transfer speeds in reading and writing of 2,000MB/s. It will be backed by a 3-year warranty, in Grey, Black, Silver, Green and Pink color options and will be sold in capacities of 512 GB, 1 and 2 TBytes. Very interesting because solid state drives are widely used today as client storage for our PCs, but they also show their advantages for external storage as they combine high performance with total mobility.

HP is also exhibiting at the show the FX900 Plus Internal SSDan M.2 drive connected to the PCIe 4.0 interface and achieving performance close to the bus limit, 7,400 MB/s sequential read and 6,700 MB/s sequential write.

It includes up to 2 Gbytes of cache for data acceleration and with a five-year warranty it will be marketed in storage capacities of 512 GB, 1 TB and 2 TB.

HP has also announced at the Taiwan fair external memory cards Dedicated to the professional market, in photo or video tasks that require the high performance provided by the CFast CFA100, CFexpress CFX100 and NM cards presented.
