HP Sure Access Enterprise, to protect sensitive data and systems

HP has expanded its portfolio of endpoint protection products and services, HP Wolf Security, with HP Sure Access Enterprise (SAE)whose mission is protect users who have access permissions to data, systems and applications that are confidential or sensitive.

This solution is responsible for preventing attackers from accessing the connections established by these users with these data and systems. Thus, even if the endpoint is compromised, access to sensitive data and systems remains secure. This contains security breaches when they are small, and prevents the security issue that would otherwise arise from becoming a major concern.

Sure Access Enterprise is available for both HP and non-HP devices. Leverage HP-designed task isolation technology to run each privileged access session within its own hardware-enforced virtual machine. This way, the data continues to maintain integrity and confidentiality, and is isolated from malware on the endpoint operating system.

Thanks to this, users will be able to carry out activities, both confidential and non-confidential, safely and from a computer. This will improve the user experience, while improving protection and lowering technology-related overhead.

The system used until now to avoid problems with confidential information in many companies was to provide users with access to them from independent privileged access workstations (PAW), exclusively used for this type of task. This is not practical, and also increases the company’s expenses. HP SAE uses advanced hardware-enforced virtualization to create protected virtual machines isolated from the desktop operating system.

Because they cannot be viewed or controlled by third parties without authorization, the confidentiality and integrity of the application and data in the protected virtual machine is guaranteed. All without the cost and hassle of having an exclusive access point for this data.

HP Sure Access Enterprise has integrations with privileged access management (PAM) solutions, such as CyberArk or BeyondTrust; IPsec remote access tunnels and multi-factor authentication (MFA). It also has centralized management to enable separation of duties and flexible policy options, such as blocking connections to specific PCs or users. On the other hand, it offers hardware to guarantee trust, with the latest Intel technologies, to prevent malware from being able to bypass security controls. And it features tamper-proof, encrypted session logging to track access, without logging sensitive data or credentials.

Ian Pratt, Global Director of Security for Personal Systems at HPhas pointed out about the system and the problem it addresses that «cGaining access to a user’s device with access to sensitive data and systems is a crucial point in the attack chain. From here, an attacker can extract credentials, scale, move, and leak sensitive data. Sure Access Enterprise is a unique solution that prevents that from happening by blocking attackers«.

In addition, it has also stressed that «cGaining access to a user’s device with access to sensitive data and systems is a crucial point in the attack chain.
