HPE buys OpsRamp, an AIOps specialist company

H.P.E. has announced the purchase of a company specialized in AIOps. Is about OpsRamp, a company whose technology will enable HP’s GreenLake platform to deliver new automation and visibility features for IT operations teams. It is unknown how much HPE has paid for the company, as well as the other terms of the transaction.

When the transaction closes, towards the end of next July, its technology will be integrated into the HPE GreenLake offering, but will also be offered as a stand-alone GreenLake product. GreenLake already has several tools for monitoring IT operations, but OpsRamp’s technology will give it visibility to third-party infrastructure, such as various hardware manufacturers and cloud service developers. It will also allow you to have specific functions for multicloud environments.

OpsRamp was founded in 2014, and is headquartered in San Jose, California. It is dedicated to the development and sale of software products as a service for the management of IT operations, focused on network discovery, monitoring and resolution of events with automated functions. Its platform incorporates machine learning for incident prioritization and event management, and it received capital from Hewlett Packard Pathfinder in 2020.

The platform has also been used to automate IT workflows, as well as to develop network topology maps. It provides real-time information for the management of hybrid systems, and proactive automation, which speeds problem resolution. It has been sold primarily to managed service providers, and has relatively recently shifted its focus to focus on channel partners.

Fidelma Russo, HPE CTOhas stressed that «Customers today manage different cloud environments, with different IT operating models, and different tools, which significantly increases the cost and complexity of managing digital operations. The combination of OpsRamp and HPE will remove these barriers, offering customers an integrated edge-to-cloud platform that can manage and transform multi-vendor and multi-cloud IT states. This purchase advances HPE’s hybrid cloud leadership and expands the reach of the HPE GreenLake platform to IT operations management«.

On the other hand, the OPsRamp CEO, Varma Kunaparajuremember that “The integration of OpsRamp’s hybrid digital operations management solution with the HPE GrenLake platform will offer an unmatched offering to businesses looking to innovate and grow in a complex, multi-cloud environment. The parties and the channel will also play a crucial role in advancing their as-a-service offerings as enterprises seek a unified approach to better manage their operations from edge to cloud. We look forward to leveraging the scale and reach of HPE’s global go-to-market engine to deliver our unique portfolio and are excited about this journey forward as part of HPE«.
