HPE Discover Frankfurt 2022: more power and services for developers in GreenLake

Hewlett Packard Enterprise has taken advantage of its event HPE Discover Frankfurt 2022 to announce new applications, analytics and services for developers at HPE GreenLake, which already has more than 65,000 customers. All of these developments are aimed at enabling organizations to have a modernization strategy for data-centric production workloads and hybrid cloud environments.

Among these updates and news announced in HPE Discover is the offer of options of Enhanced container deployment for Kubernetes in HPE GreenLake for Private Cloud Enterprise with Amazon EKS Anywhere on AWS. Also cloud-native and infrastructure-as-code on-chain builders to support customer DevOps operations, as well as continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) environments.

They have also announced six workload-optimized instances for general purpose, computing, memory and storage. All six are available now on HPE GreenLake for Private Cloud Enterprise, and can be accessed on a pay-as-you-go model. On the other hand, they have expanded the possibilities of their ecosystem of partners, which now includes HPE GreenLake for Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, as well as the recently announced HPE GreenLake for VMware.

Enhancements to consumer analytics have also been announced at HPE Discover, delivering improved usage and cost of application analytics for all three hyperscale public cloud providers. This includes easier reporting and dashboard insights, both of which help customers improve budgeting and capacity planning in their hybrid environment.

As for HPE GreenLake for Data Fabric and HPE Ezmeral Unified Analytics, they are already available through the new HPE Ezmeral early access program. With this program, developers can test the data structure and analytics service before launch. Customers who are interested in accessing this program can request it on this website.

HPE GreenLake for Private Cloud Enterprise, as we have mentioned, will have several improvements starting with this edition of HPE Discover. For starters, it will offer new container deployment options for Kubernetes with Amazon EKS Anywhere. Thus, customers will be able to run the same container environments they use in the public cloud on-premises, in addition to achieving workload portability with a cloud-native experience in their hybrid cloud.

Customers will also be able to be self-sufficient in terms of managing virtual machines, containers or bare metal. To do this they will have an intuitive console interface, APIs, command line interface or infrastructure as code. With them they will be able to reduce the time it takes to perform operations, and developers will have immediate access to their workspace. They will also be able to choose from multiple operating systems, containerized application stacks, and on-chain compiler integration services, with the goal of facilitating greater visibility and efficiency.

As we’ve mentioned, HPE continues to expand its ecosystem of partner offerings on the HPE GreenLake MarketPlace for DevOps, AI/ML, analytics, data protection, security, and more. Examples of this are the aforementioned HPE GreenLake Container Platform for Red Hat OpenShift and HPE GreenLake for VMware. The container platform HPE GreenLake for Red Hat OpenShift is the result of the co-development announcement announced at HPE Discover in Las Vegas at the end of June this year to deliver new services on HPE GreenLake with open source solutions from Red Hat.

Combining HPE GreenLake with Red Hat Open Shift provides customers with a solid foundation for application development and hybrid cloud innovation. This helps customers reduce costs and complications, while improving stability and performance in various IT environments. The container platform HPE GreenLake for Red Hat OpenShift, to be available in Q1 2023offers self-service container management in edge, data center or hybrid cloud environments.

Announced last month HPE GreenLake for VMWare will bring HPE GreenLake and VMware Cloud together to offer a fully integrated solution with a pay-as-you-go hybrid cloud consumption model. VMware Cloud will be fully integrated into the HPE GreenLake portfolio, which includes HPE GreenLake for Private Cloud Enterprise.
