Huawei P50 Pocket previews and confirms its folding shell design

Just a few days ago we were wondering if 2022 would be a key year for folding smartphones, but today we no longer have any doubt. And it is that the recent announcements of the OPPO Find N and the confirmation of new Samsung folding, joins now the new Huawei P50 Pocket, which with the advancement of its latest teaser confirms its clamshell-type folding screen design.

This advance comes to us through the official account of the company in the Chinese social network Weibo, with two promotional images in which clearly you can see the foldable design of this new phone, very similar to the current Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Motorola Razr. However, the biggest difference is its textured back, at the moment advanced under two different roughness patterns, and some silver and gold colors, which certainly aim to make it stand out as a premium high-end device.

It has long been rumored that Huawei was working on its own folding cover to take on the Z Flip, with a device that He aimed to accompany the Mate X under the name of Mate V. However, it seems that finally the Chinese company would be opting to take advantage of the pull of its current top-of-the-range family, opting for this Pocket nomenclature to qualify its more portable folding form factor.

Unfortunately, at the moment these seem to be all the advances on the Huawei P50 Pocket, with nothing more being known about this model at this time. Although undoubtedly knowing that it will be part of the P50 family opens the door to certain expectations and speculation.

And there are already many who point to the possibility that this device has some of the top-of-the-range specifications of this family, such as a Snapdragon 888 processor or its configurations up to 12 GB of RAM. Some specifications that would compete on par with Samsung phones. Although with the recent arrival of the new Qualcomm processors, the Huawei P50 Pocket could still go further.
