The Huawei Watch D, the brand’s next HarmonyOS connected watch, should carry a tool to measure blood pressure. Ahead of Apple, the Chinese group will unveil the accessory at a conference on December 23, 2021.
Huawei is preparing to enrich its range of connected watches with a new model, the Huawei watch d. According to the information already available on the smartwatch, the Chinese group will rely on HarmonyOS, its in-house operating system. The OS logo is indeed visible on a stolen photo that appeared on Weibo, the Chinese social network.
The stolen photo, relayed by several leakers, shows the Watch D sales box. In the lower right corner of the packaging, you can see the operating system logo. As a reminder, HarmonyOS is already present on other products of the brand, including the Huawei Watch 3. The connected watch had indeed signed the kickoff of the operating system.

Huawei ahead of Apple with a watch equipped with a blood pressure monitor
The promotional image visible on the box also reveals one of the main functions of the connected watch. Apparently, the accessory will be able to measure the blood pressure of its wearer. The numbers shown on the display indicate the pressure systolic, that is, the maximum blood pressure in the arteries, and the diastolic or minimum pressure.
With this new connected watch, Huawei is cutting the grass under Apple’s foot. Despite rumors, the American giant has not added a blood pressure monitor to its Apple Watch Series 7. The option should however see the light of day with the Apple Watch Series 8, the launch of which is scheduled for next September. Note that Samsung is the first manufacturer to have integrated a blood pressure monitor into a watch connected with the Galaxy Watch 4.
According to Chinese informants relayed by the ITHome media, Huawei would have obtained a class II medical device registration certificate with the National Administration of Medicinal Products of China. This certificate guarantees that the results are as reliable as a medical device. At the same time, Huawei has sent out the required invitations for a product presentation scheduled for December 23, 2021. Leaks expect the Watch D to be the main novelty of this winter announcement.
