Injustice: God Among Us, the animated film based on the fighting game made by NetherRealm Studios and based on the characters from the DC comics, it showed itself with the first official trailer.
The video that we can see right below puts us immediately in front of the very essence behind this story also narrated by the graphic novel Injustice: Gods Among Us: Year One from Tom Taylor, or what happens when Superman himself becomes evil threatening the very existence of mankind which, probably, will not be able to bear the destructive power of the Man of Steel.
Trailer and plot of Injustice: God Among Us
Both Injustice: Gods Among Us and its comic sequel are set in an alternate DC universe where Superman has gone mad after being tricked by the Joker into killing his wife Lois and their unborn child.
Superman has thus lost the light of reason and, after having eliminated the Joker and destroyed Metropolis, later becoming the tyrannical dictator of the entire planet Earth.
Five years after that tragedy, Superman rules the world with an iron fist, with the United Earth (as this dimension is called) divided into two factions: the Dictatorship made up of heroes and criminals loyal to the Man of Steel and the Insurrection , resistance and liberation movement led by Batman.
In growing difficulty against the overwhelming power of the Kryptonian despot, the rebels thus decide to ask for help from the Justice League of the regular DCU, a team up that will cross the space-time dimensions to fight this authoritarian and violent Man of Steel.
Details of the animated film Injustice
As reported by IGN at the helm of this project there is Matt Peters (Justice League Dark) who directs this animated film following a script written by Ernie Altbacker (Batman: Hush). Jim Krieg produces the film while Sam Register is the executive producer.
Injustice: God Among Us, produced by Warner Bros. Animation, will debut on October 19, 2021 in digital and home video versions (4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo Pack, Blu-ray).
The NetherRealm Studios videogame
The game Injustice: God Among Us was released in 2013 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii U, versions to which a special edition has been added Ultimate Edition for PC, PS 3, PS4, PlayStation Vita and Xbox 360.
In 2017 the sequel came out Injustice 2 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
