Meta has just launched a brand new verification program, which is modeled after that of its competitor Twitter. You will have to go to the checkout if you want a small blue badge on your account.
Meta Verified is now available in the United States, CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced on his Instagram broadcast channel, after the service launched in Australia and New Zealand last month. People who register can get a verified badge, he specified.
Previously, only users considered notable in categories such as media and government could have their social media profiles verified, so other users could be sure they were following the true owners of those accounts.
Paying will get you a certification badge at Meta
The Meta Verified service will give users a blue badge after they verify their accounts using a government ID. The paid service will cost $11.99 per month on web or $14.99 per month on Apple iOS system and Android system from Google, Meta said in a statement. So it’s like Twitter, which charges him 8 dollars on the Web and 11 dollars on Android and iOS, because of taxes from Google and Apple up to 30% on their respective store.
As on Twitter, Meta Verified users are entitled to some advantages on the company’s social networks. For those living in the United States, you can join the Meta Verified waiting list at https://meta.com/verified. In addition to paying fees, you must be 18 or oldersubmit a photo of your ID to Meta, meet Meta’s minimum activity requirements, and enable two-factor authentication.
Note that once you have been verified, you cannot change your username, profile name, date of birth or photo. unless you check again.
