Instagram introduces a new feature that looks (a lot) like TikTok

In its seduction operation to afford the favors of influencers, Instagram does not hesitate to multiply the creative tools, even when it is necessary to borrow them from the competition. The social network of the Meta group has deployed this week a new feature called Reels Visual Replies, which allows content creators to respond to comments from their community directly in video, via their Reels.

Very inspired by TikTok, and a feature deployed last year by the Chinese platform, this tool will now allow users to select the Reels option when they wish to respond to a particular comment. The latter will finally appear in the video, in the form of a sticker. A “New way of interacting with the public” promises Instagram, which promises tofurther enrich the catalog of possibilities offered to its influencers.

Bet on Reels

This new tool rolled out by Instagram is actually no surprise. For several months now, Mark Zuckerberg’s platform has been watching its content creators with a dual objective: to retain its communities, at a time when more and more influencers are choosing to migrate to others. platforms, but also reassure its audience, by forgetting the recent revelations of Frances Haugen around the Facebook Files.

In recent weeks, Instagram has launched several other Reels-related features, starting with a native tool for traditional year-end retrospectives, called Playback, and available on Stories. The latter now allows us to pick 10 stories from those of the past year, to obtain a sort of video review of the year 2021.

Earlier this year, the “Rage Shake” feature was rolled out by the company. Although anecdotal, it allows you to shake your phone in the event of a bug or problem, just to let off steam, but above all to trigger the sending of an error report. Function “Take a break” has also been deployed, in order to encourage Internet users to take a break after spending some time scrolling.
