Intel NUC 12 Pro, new mini PCs with Alder Lake-P processors

The Santa Clara giant has officially presented the Intel NUC 12 Pro, a new generation of high-performance mini PCs that are equipped with the Alder Lake-P processorsand that they maintain all the keys of the Intel NUC series, which means that they are available in two sizes, as we can see in the attached video, and that they offer a wide range of connectivity options.

At the specification level, the Intel NUC 12 Pro are configured by default with a Core i3-1220P, a chip that has two high-performance cores based on the Golden Cove architecture and eight high-efficiency cores based on the Gracemont architecture, giving us a total of 10 cores and 12 threads. We can configure it with superior processors (they admit at most one Core i7-1270Pwhich has four high-performance cores, eight high-efficiency cores, and 16 threads).

In all cases, the Intel NUC 12 Pro uses the processor’s integrated GPU. Alder Lake-P uses the new Intel Xe (Gen12) architecture, which means they offer a significant performance improvement over previous generations. We can configure them with up to 64GB of 3200MHz DDR4 memory, and support PCIe Gen4 SSD drives. The larger model has enough space to also house a 2.5-inch format storage unit with a SATA III interface, either an HDD or an SSD.

Regarding connectivity, the Intel NUC 12 Pro have:

  • 1 x USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A.

The base price of the model with Core i5-1240P is 599 euros without taxes. That configuration comes with 4GB of DDR4 and a 256GB SSD. The most powerful version with Core i7-1260P goes up to 779 euros, also with 4 GB of RAM and a 256 GB SSD. The version with Core i3-1220P is not listed yet, but it should cost 499 euros.
