Intel’s first graphics cards disappoint: is this all?

As usually happens with these things, a database is in charge of providing the first comparative performance points for, in this case, two graphics card models. These two models are the main players within the low range of desktop and laptop PCs, where specifically the ARC Alchemist A380 and A370M are listed.

Intel ARC A370M at SiSoftware

This GPU is logically the A370M, a graphics card that in the SiSoftware database is not well specified in terms of technical characteristics, that is, the suite has not read its specifications correctly. This is because if we look at the capture it reflects 160 EU, when it has already been leaked through an Intel slide that the smallest would have either 96 EU or 128 EU.

The answer to this is found with the iGPU of the processor, as this is a UHD 770 with 32 EUs, so 128 + 32 gives us the 160 EU that reflects the test. To complete the specifications we know you will have 4GB of VRAM and a bus 128 bitwhere in addition the nucleus gives 1.55GHz Boostbut interestingly this matches that of the iGPU of the processor, so it’s all a bit up in the air here.

Specs out let’s go with the scores as it gets 2,399.97 Mpix/s, 10,612 points in HF GP, 5,208 points in SF GP, 250 DFGP and 27 points in QF GP. To place the scores we will give two examples: it does not reach a GTX 1660 and slightly exceeds an RX 580, more than veteran graphics cards that are still valid, but where something more was expected. It is true that we are talking about a laptop GPU and apparently the drivers are not yet polished, so there is hope there. What can the desktop version do?

Using the same criteria mentioned above, the A380 achieves a score of 2956 Mpix/s, which is not to shoot rockets either as they say, but it already enters a different range comparatively speaking. Here we have more important rivals, such as the RX 5500 XT and supposedly the rumored RX 6500, which should be close to it.

NVIDIA here would not compete with the RTX 3050, mainly because it would be above and by quite a bit, so we have to go all the way down to the GTX 1660 SUPER to even the scale. They are general numbers that are not up to their rivals, but they are not bad at all.

They partially disappoint being affected by a supposedly unpolished driver yet, so as the release gets closer we will start to see more reliable scores as always. In any case, these have been the scores of the A370M and A380 in SiSoftware, disappointment or expected?
