iPhone 14, iMac Pro, VR Glasses … Everything Apple would launch in 2022

Around the corner is now 2022 and although Apple is not expected to start launching products until March or April, the truth is that we can already speculate about what those launches will be. The classic iPhone, Mac, iPad or Apple Watch could be joined this year by the expected first generation of their helmets or glasses.

Below you will be able to see the forecasts that, although they have not been confirmed, are foreseeable based on both the history of the company itself (see the case of the iPhone) or thanks to the leaks and forecasts of well-known analysts in the sector.

Up to 5 new iPhones by 2022

  • iPhone SE (3rd gen.)
  • iPhone 14/14 Max
  • iPhone 14 Pro / 14 Pro Max

The iPhone SE would continue to be very continuous with respect to the 2020 model. In fact, it would be practically identical, only with the addition of 5G and an A15 Bionic chip. More change would show the iPhone 14 with considerable improvements in the cameras and a new division by specifications, saying goodbye to the ‘mini’ and having versions of 6.1 and 6.7 inches for both the standard and the ‘Pro’.

The Apple Watch would arrive for extreme sports

  • Apple Watch SE (2nd gen.)
  • Apple Watch Series 8
  • Apple Watch Series 8 Pro

Apple Watch SE

The Apple Watch SE would be an improved version of the current one, with similar characteristics to the Series 6. However, the great novelties in terms of sensors would come in the Series 8 and 8 Pro. In fact, the latter would be a new version adapted in materials for be tough in the most extreme uses. Or so analysts like Min-Chi Kuo say.

What is expected in Apple tablets

  • iPad Pro (11 ″ and 12.9 ″ – 2022)
  • iPad (10th gen.)
  • iPad Air (5th gen.)

The ‘Pro’ models would come with not very drastic changes, such as adding the miniLED to the small model after the big one was released this 2021. It would also add interesting improvements such as being able to load AirPods or even the iPhone through them. Little doubts are also generated by the normal iPad, which would improve the chip and little else compared to the current one. In the new ‘Air’ there would also be few changes beyond a possible OLED screen and the arrival of 5G connectivity in its LTE versions.

The Apple Silicon will continue to be present

  • MacBook Air (M2)
  • iMac (27 ″ – M1 Pro / M1 Max)
  • Macbook pro (M2 Pro / M2 Max)
  • Mac mini Pro

The MacBook Airs would have a new and colorful design that would go hand in hand with the 24-inch iMac that we already know. It would be equipped with an M2 chip that, despite being more powerful than the M1, would not reach the performance levels of the M1 Pro and M1 Max. Precisely the latter would be the chips dedicated to the expected large iMac, which would come with a miniLED panel and other improvements such as those already seen in the 2021 MacBook Pro.

Already to close the year we could see a continuous renewal of the range of ‘Pro’ laptops, this time with the corresponding evolution with respect to the M2. It does not seem that it will be the year of the Mac Pro, which would continue with Intel, but it is expected that Apple could offer a hybrid between this and the ‘mini’ with a hypothetical M1 Pro or M2 Pro.

Other launches we would see in 2022

  • AirPods Pro (2nd gen.)
  • HomePod Display
  • Glasses / Helmet Mixed Reality

In the audio field we would see new AirPods Pro with improved specifications in noise cancellation, greater autonomy and who knows if there is any modification to the design. In the same way that we could see a new range of HomePod coupled to a screen like center stage for HomeKit accessories. Although the fat would come with the expected helmet or mixed reality glasses from Apple, which could be announced in June so that developers can prepare apps and launch it at the end of the year (or early 2023).
