A month has already passed since the iPhone 14 Pro Max came into my hands, so I think it has been enough time to be able to tell you, in a much more personal post than usual, what my experience has been and is being with the iPhone 14 Pro Max. It is the top model of iPhone that you can find right now in the Apple Store. I can already tell you that not everything has gone as expected.
Your cameras, the best
One of the reasons why I change my iPhone every year is to be able to enjoy the new features that Apple introduces mainly in the photographic and video section. Well, this iPhone 14 Pro Max of course, in this sense, has not disappointed, since it is positioned as, surely, the best device you can find when creating contentboth in photography and video.
The novelties that it has included of course that, for someone like me, an audiovisual content creator, are considerably worth it. The 48 Mpx You don’t use them every day, obviously, but when you need them, they’re a blast. Not to mention the action modethe stabilization that this equipment is capable of achieving when recording video is truly incredible.
The screen, another volcano of new things
Another point that I highlight the most about this device is the screen. In this case I have been able to enjoy two novelties, first of all the Dynamic Islandwhich of course is a considerable attraction, in addition to the fact that it is undoubtedly a really functional element, and that is still missing for developers to be able to get the most out of it.
The second thing I have to highlight is the always on screen, since although it is one of those functions that on a day-to-day basis you do not know if you are really capable of taking advantage of it, having it at least provides you with a different stimulus than what we had up to now. This, together with the new iOS 16 lock screens, offers you something that iPhone users did not have until now, and it is obviously appreciated.
The battery, is it the fault of the iPhone or iOS 16?
As I mentioned at the beginning of this post, not everything has been positive things in my experience with this device. Although in general the sensations are fantastic, Battery, which is a differential point of this iPhone, has not worked as well as expected. It is true that, after the first two weeks in which the device has to be calibrated, the autonomy has improved, but the feeling is still that Apple could have done better.
Something that must be made clear is that, with this iPhone 14 Pro Max, I continue to not worry about autonomy during the day, I continue to have more than enough at the end of the day, but perhaps with a little less margin than before with my iPhone 13 Pro Max. However, Is this a problem with the iPhone or with iOS 16?and there are many users who have also complained about the same thing and who have other devices, so I hope that with future software updates, Apple will be able to improve this experience.
