The rumors were right, Apple is going to organize its first keynote of the year. The apple brand has just invited the press to an event scheduled for Tuesday, March 8. What will Apple announce?

During its first event of 2022, it should be about iPhone, iPad and possibly Mac. The most anticipated — and likely — announcement is for the iPhone SE. The affordable smartphone is set to return in a new version that is rumored to look a lot like the current model. The design should therefore not evolve, but the smartphone will still be entitled to new features. It should carry a new, more powerful chip, thus confirming the notion of performance that the brand evokes in its invitation. The A15 chip of the iPhone 13 should take place in this small phone, bringing 5G compatibility in passing. The amount of storage could also be increased on this mid-range model.

The other star of this event should be the iPad. Apple is expected to introduce a new iPad Air with a more powerful chip and 5G connectivity. Again, we can expect a tablet equipped with an A15 Bionic processor and a new front camera.

On the sidelines of these two products, version 15.4 of iOS could make its debut. Highly anticipated, it will notably bring Face ID unlocking with a mask.

The Mac surprise?

The uncertainty concerns the Apple brand computer. The Mac could also take advantage of the event to get a makeover, with the announcement of the M2 chip. The latter could appear in a 13-inch MacBook Pro, offering better performance and increased energy efficiency. For the time being, we cannot exclude the possibility of seeing the arrival of new machines equipped with the M1 Pro and M1 Max chips.

Apple recently registered three Mac SKUs, including a laptop and possible desktop PCs. All eyes are therefore on the iMac which could find a Pro orientation or the Mac mini. The first would carry a powerful M1 processor (up to 12 cores) and a mini-LED screen with ProMotion technology (120 Hz). Regarding the Mac mini, it could send to afford a new design and integrate Apple M1 Pro and M1 Max chips. The capacity of RAM, storage and connectivity may also evolve. After all, Apple promises us “performance” during its keynote.
