Is Endgame really the last Avengers movie?

More Avengers in the future? This is what Kevin Feige suggests in the new episode Marvel: Assembled.

It was the conclusion of an adventure that began 11 years earlier with Iron Man first of the name. In 2019, MCU fans finally discover the last chapter of the Infinity saga. Directed by the Russo Brothers, Endgame ends the storyline of the Infinity Stones and Thanos to focus on new superheroic adventures. A last meeting on the big screen? We could hope that new superheroes would take up the torch.

It should not be counted too much according to Kevin Feige. In Marvel Assembled, a behind-the-scenes report on MCU films and series, Marvel’s big boss explains “Marvel Studios and the Cinematic Universe have now passed their tenth anniversary and with the release of this final Avengers, we have finally completed a 22-film infinity saga”

In English in the text, Kevin Feige makes reference to a final opus, and not the latest. Unequivocal statements that come to destroy the hopes of fans to one day find the entire team, under the Avengers banner at least.

Avengers in the movies

Because yes, these on-screen meetings will still take place. So rather confined to their respective licenses, superheroes no longer hesitate to make appearances with their closest neighbors. This was already the case with Captain America: Civil War and this should also take place with Doctor Strange: in the multiverse of Madness.

To help him in his new adventure, Stephen Strange can count on Wanda Maximoff. It is also rumored that other superheroes, who have not officially entered the MCU, could pass a head. This is the case of Deadpool, whose third film is long overdue.

Asked about this, his interpreter Ryan Reynolds was rather categorical, Deadpool will not appear. “I promise you, I’m not in the movie”. Reminds you of something?

*** spoilers on No Way Home ***

Before the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Andrew Garfield had held about the same speech during the interviews. Fans, who doubted the sincerity of the actor, were right to be wary since he ultimately held an important part in the plot.

From there to say that Ryan Reynolds adopts the same technique? Only time will tell. But the presence of Patrick Stewart, famous Professor Xavier in the X-Men has something to intrigue us. Especially since Marvel is slowly starting to include Marvel characters, already exploited on the small or the big screen, but under other labels, in its universe. This is the case of Daredevil, alias Matt Murdock, who played the legal advisers for Peter Parker lately. Same story on Disney + with the arrival of Wilson Fisk in the casting of Hawkeye.

Patience, everything comes at the right time to those who know how to wait. You won’t have to wait very long. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness arrives at the cinema May 4 next. The film will be directed by none other than Sam Raimi, to whom we owe the first trilogy Spiderman.
