Is Samsung preparing the launch of the Galaxy S22 Fan Edition?

samsung In 2020, it marketed the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition smartphone, a cheaper edition of its top-of-the-range smartphone. The invention seemed to work at the sales level, so the company set out to prepare another generation based on the Galaxy S21 line. However, the crisis caused by the shortage of supplies caused its launch to be delayed. Said delay caused the device to be marketed in January 2022, which is why it was eclipsed by the Galaxy S22 generation and triggered rumors about the cancellation of the line. However, it seems that Samsung has reconsidered and that there will be a Galaxy S22 Fan Edition.

It is important to keep in mind that the Samsung Galaxy S22 Fan Edition would be a cheaper smartphone than the other editions, but that it would still remain in the high-end range, so it would not be or at least does not aim to be a device for all budgets. Another point to take into consideration is that at a technological level it would be based on what will soon be the penultimate generation of top-of-the-range smartphones from the South Korean giant, since the Galaxy S23 series is just around the corner.

The existence of the Galaxy S22 Fan Edition is still a rumor that has been fanned thanks to the leaker RGcloudS. The alleged smartphone it would replace the Galaxy A74 in 2023, it would have a 108-megapixel camera on the back and it would equip an Exynos 2300 SoC. From the “standard” series of Galaxy S22 there are devices with Exynos SoC, and seeing the focus of the Fan Edition, if there is an S23 generation it could maintain said technology on that front.

In addition to the Galaxy S22 Fan Edition, RGcloudS has mentioned a Galaxy Tab S8 Fan Edition with the Exynos 2300 and a Galaxy Tab S9 series that would be released during the third quarter of 2023. On the other hand, the A7 series could disappear from the market because the price difference with respect to the Fan Edition would not be great and therefore internal competition would be generated that would not be of interest to Samsung.

We will see if the Samsung Galaxy S22 Fan Edition ends up really existing, although, if it does, it would not be marketed in January 2023, but later to avoid being overshadowed by the Galaxy S23 series, which together with OnePlus 11 are the smartphones top of the range that will monopolize the prominence during the beginning of the year that is just around the corner.
