The latest flagship smartphone from OnePlus does not shine with its robustness. It broke in half during a stress test.
New flagship of the Chinese manufacturer, the OnePlus 10 Pro has been available for a few weeks in China. Before its probable launch in France in the spring, the smartphone is tested from every angle and has landed in the hands of JerryRigEverything. The youtuber has a reputation for manhandling devices during his famous resistance test. An area in which the OnePlus 10 Pro does not really show itself to its advantage.
Zack Nelson – creator of the JerryRigEverything channel – broke the smartphone in half during his test. As we can see in the video (from 6min57), the OnePlus 10 Pro did not resist the pressure exerted in the center and its rear glass quickly began to crack. Many cracks also appear in the photo block of the smartphone.
After pressing again, the device looks like a folding smartphone. An embarrassing situation for a manufacturer who is not yet interested in this type of device. The video suggests that the positioning of the various components contributes to this lack of resistance. The OnePlus 10 Pro breaks just above its battery; at the volume button.
The lack of solidity of the OnePlus smartphone is reminiscent of the famous “bendgate” affair. A few years ago, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus had the annoying tendency to bend. Later iPad Pro or Asus ROG Phone 5 also struggled in stress tests. However, it should be noted that this type of test is not representative of everyday use. In this video, everything has been done to push the smartphone to its limits.
An all-white OnePlus 10 Pro arrives in China
Before its international launch, however, the smartphone does not show itself in its best light. The OnePlus 10 Pro also presents strong technical arguments. It features a 6.7-inch LTPO 2.0 screen in QHD+ at 120 Hz, as well as a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. The photo part with a triple module (48 + 8 + 50 Mpx) or the 5,000 mAh battery compatible with charging fast at 80 W participate in the high-end orientation of the smartphone.
In China, OnePlus has also decided to reconnect with white with the 10 Pro Extreme Edition. This model features a colorway called Panda White, with white on the back and a black photo block. For the occasion, the firm has beefed up its device a little more by equipping it with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. This new version is displayed for pre-order in China at 5,799 yuan, or about 920 dollars.
