IT positions related to infrastructure, the best paid in the sector in Spain

Undoubtedly, one of the sectors in which the best salaries are paid, not only in Spain, but practically throughout the world, is technology. But within this sector there are quite pronounced differences between the different types of position and technology that their professionals occupy. Knowing them is usually complicated, especially if we already want to know which positions are better or worse paid in Spain.

For this reason, the recruiting company specialized in IT positions Manfred has set to work to publicize it, with a study carried out using the anonymized data of the 36,000 employees that they have in their database. Both in terms of roles and positions they occupy, as well as the technologies they use in their day to day.

The best paid positions, those related to infrastructure

From the data held by the company, it is clear that professionals who work in positions related to IT infrastructure have an above-average salary. Around 60% earn more than 50,000 euros per year. In fact, 12% of them receive a salary that exceeds 80,000 euros each year.

Regarding technologies used at work, the best paid are also those related to infrastructure. He 60% of Go experts earn more than 50,000 euros every yearand 24% of those surveyed who work in positions related to Go earn between 61,000 and 80,000 euros per year. Another 18% take more than 80,000 each year. With Rust something similar happens. Its professionals with salaries of more than 50,000 euros account for another 60% of the total, and 17% earn more than 80,000 euros per year.

As is often the case in other sectors, leadership-related positions are the best paid, apart from those in infrastructure. Those of Engineering Manager and Development Team Leader stand out. In both cases, the majority of salaries (30-31%) move in the range between 60,000 and 80,000 euros.

QA, Frontend and Product Design positions are perhaps the ones with the lowest salaries, with a significant part of the positions (more than 55%) earning salaries of 20,000 to 40,000 euros each year. The salaries of those dedicated to the backend with a certain level of experience are somewhat higher. Thus, 46% of those with a certain level of experience earn between 30,000 and 50,000 euros each year.

In general, moreover, the higher the level of experience, the higher the salaries. This can be seen in the salaries generally held by higher-level professionals, such as Project Manager, Product Manager or Software Architecture, in addition to those directly related to team and project leadership. The majority, above 20%, earn a minimum of 41,000 euros.

Salaries by technology and tool

Reviewing again the data corresponding to technology salaries, those who earn the least per year are juniors working in areas related to JavaScript. Specifically, in Node.js (39%) and React (43%), where a good part earn less than 30,000 euros per year. React, from frontend, also has quite a few professionals with little experience and salaries of 20,000 to 30,000 euros: 31%. Another 20% of its professionals earn less than 20,000 euros per year.

Among backend development technologies, Ruby on Rails It is the one with the best paid professionals: 27% earn more than 61,000 euros per year. In terms of what professionals dedicated to cloud computing technologies earn per year, it is those at AWS who have the best salaries, although only slightly higher. 54% exceed 51,000 euros per year, while in the case of Azure, only 48% exceed this salary.

In addition to the languages ​​used by professionals in the IT sector, the tools they master in their day-to-day life also matter. Of these, the ones that allow you to get better salaries are Kubernetes and Terraform. The first has 62% professionals with an annual salary of more than 51,000 euros, while the second has 68% who earn more than that amount.
