Juan Carlos Ibáñez has joined as Chief Data & Analytics Officer (CDO) in the Data Science area of wecity, participatory financing platform. With his incorporation as head of data and data analytics and architecture, the company seeks to strengthen its data strategy so that it allows its users to make decisions based on analytics and mathematical models.
Ibáñez has extensive experience in the technology sector and, in particular, in the data area, where he has more than 15 years of experience in analytical and data science projects for large international companies such as the French multinational telecommunications company. Orange, where he served first as Director of Business Intelligence and Decision Sciences and later as Director of Big Data.
Prior to his arrival at wecity, he held the position of Chief Data Officer of Urban Data Analytics, subsequently acquired by the international financial services firm Alantra, as well as the Spanish communication group Atresmedia.
PhD in Applied Statistics from Lancaster University (UK), He also has a Master’s Degree in Mathematical Engineering from the Carlos III University of Madrid. He currently combines his profession with teaching Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Science and Machine Learning.
For Ibáñez, this new professional challenge is a great challenge, “We live in a society marked by digitization, a trend that absorbs companies, therefore, one of my first challenges is to promote wecity’s Data and Artificial Intelligence strategy. With everyone’s effort, we will be able to take one more step to continue growing and meeting the most ambitious objectives ”.
