Mark Millar is now engaged with Netflix for the realization of numerous projects related to his works, but we have certainly not forgotten the missing piece in the trilogy linked to one of his most famous works: Kick-Ass 3.
The third film based on the Image Comics series, created with John Romita Jr.has been hiding for more than 8 years and, every now and then, some actor involved in the saga comes back to talk about it, without however providing important updates on the status of the project.
Mark Millar unveils plans for making Kick-Ass 3, plans that… aren’t there
To dispel any doubts about the actual state of Kick-Ass 3, then Millar himself thought of it who, during a recent interview with ScreenRant, revealed that “There are absolutely no plans” for a third film right now, but there’s still a story to tell on the big screen.
“You know, it’s funny, sometimes something pops up on a third Kick-Ass, but it’s never true”Millar explained. “What happens is, I think, one of the original actors is being interviewed about another movie and invariably asked, ‘Is there another Kick-Ass?’ then they say, ‘Well, maybe, I don’t know’ and then it becomes a news headline, “Maybe another Kick-Ass is coming.” But in reality, we have never literally talked about it ”.
“I talk to Matthew Vaughn three times a week, Matthew is one of my best friends and we have no plans because I’m busy with Netflix and he has deals with Apple and Kick-Ass is from Universal”Millar continued. “So there are definitely no plans, maybe, at some point in the future… we have one final story to tell, which is the concluding story of the grand finale. I like the idea, because we can basically go back a little bit by reviewing all the characters in different places, so there’s a potential story there at the end. But I pray that no one reads this and you are wrong by stating that we have said that Kick-Ass 3 is in the works, because there is 100% no intention of doing so at the moment. “
It therefore seems that to see the arrival of Kick-Ass 3 it will still take a long time and, perhaps, we may not actually see it ever made.

Kick-Ass star Chloe Grace Moretz further said in 2018 that she would not be returning for a third film in the franchise.
“I wish the second film had been handled a little differently, pbecause I think we were all waiting for something a little different from what happened on the screen “ had declared the actress. “As much as I love the Hit-Girl character, I think she lives and survives in Kick-Ass and somehow I’d like to keep her there. I’d just like to keep everyone’s attention on Kick-Ass qso I don’t think there will be a Kick-Ass 3, at least not with Hit-Girl. “
