Konami’s latest deal leaves clues about Silent Hill, but not as you expect

Konami and Bloober Team

Konami has formalized an agreement with the studios of Bloober Team, a development team known for bringing horror games like The Medium and Blair Witch to life, and which now, according to the official statement, will be in charge of “producing games from existing and new IPs.” That said, if Bloober Team is a specialist in horror games, what existing horror game in Konami could come back to life? White and bottled. In the words of Bloober’s live show:

“It is a historic day for me and the culmination of several years of our work. The fact that such a renowned company as Konami has decided to strategically cooperate with the Bloober Team means that we also join the world leaders in games and become an equal partner for the leading players in this market.

This obviously still does not confirm anything, but as they point out in Eurogamer, there are a number of coincidences and important details that could finally lead us to the confirmation of the return of Silent Hill. On the one hand, we have composer Akira Yamaoka, known for his work on Silent Hill and who recently dropped in an interview that he was composing music for a project “that was the one you hope to hear.”

A well-known composer

The Medium

These words were too revealing, so much so that the interview was quickly removed from YouTube for unknown reasons, something that only highlights the obvious.

But there is even more, as Yamaoka would have previously worked with Bloober Team to develop the soundtrack for The Medium, so the pieces would fit together very precisely and exactly. Coincidence? We don’t believe it.

The abandoned theory goes flat

Abandoned

With these new clues and Konami’s official announcement assuring that they are working with developers specialized in scary games, you will understand that the theory that related Abandoned with Kojima and with Konami is deflated. You may want to continue to believe that Kojima is still behind the project, but we can hardly connect him with Konami anymore, who seems to have his affairs controlled elsewhere.

Only time will tell what exactly happens with Abandoned and Hasan Kahraman, but everything indicates that Konami is immediately out of the equation. Of course, as we have commented previously, at the moment it cannot be said that Silent Hill has been confirmed, but this is perhaps the best of the tracks we have received in recent months.
