Laptops with Intel graphics are on sale, for 1400 euros!

After two months of delays and more delays, presentation in between, the first units of laptops with intel a370m graphics dedicated are coming to the market and also with surprise. And it is not for the good, since the first two models have been seen at prices that are really prohibitive, to the point that the smallest of them will cost 1,400 euros or more, depending on the retailer and store.

Intel graphics cards for laptops and especially for desktops (yet to be presented) had the San Benito behind being the disruptive mechanism for GPU prices in 2022. That is, they were expected at a lower price than NVIDIA and AMD But what if it wasn’t? Well, it would be a big problem for Pat Gelsinger’s men and according to what we are going to see, everything indicates that it will be fulfilled.

The prices are very high, what happens in notebooks with the Intel A370M?

Two models have been seen in major US stores at exorbitant prices, one from ASUS and one from HP, where the latter is out of the range. In both cases, both work thanks to an Intel ARC A370M GPU, which is at the same time the second graphics card from the bottom in terms of power, surpassing only the A350M.

But what do these two laptops have to be so expensive? How much are they already on sale? Starting with the ASUS, we are talking about the Zenbook range in Flip 2 in 1 version, which integrates a Intel Core i7-12700H of 12 nuclei to which they accompany 16GB LPDDR5an 1TB SSD and the corresponding and cited A370M.

models of graphics cards developed by intel for laptops

A laptop of a standard size of 15.6 inches with a touch screen and a more than competent resolution of 2,880 x 1620 pixels that can be transformed into a kind of tablet thanks to its 360º hinge. Its price is encrypted in 1,400 euros to change. The HP is much more expensive and with almost worse general performance.

We are talking about a laptop out of range that costs 2,000 euros and that follows the ASUS philosophy, it has a worse processor (i7-1260P), the same RAM and SSD, the same size and a better screen (3,820 x 2400 pixels), all within the concept called 2 in 1.

Intel EVO’s fault?

Both laptops are within the Intel EVO denomination and platform, which means that in terms of connectivity they have the best, such as Wi-Fi 6 or Thunderbolt 4, but this is no excuse because in addition to being 2-in-1 convertibles with this GPU are focused on a gaming environment.

The problem is that for that price there are already laptops with NVIDIA RTX 3060 or RTX 3070 even if we find a good price, where you also get even better processors and better features, such as being lighter or more gaming features.

The problem is that with this A370M GPU at this price in laptops that include Intel, it is directly erased from the market. This graphics card is slower and by far compared to the entry range of AMD, not even NVIDIA, since a RX6500M it is much faster and getting a laptop with it is much easier and above all cheaper.

This sets a pretty bad precedent for Intel, because the fastest GPUs are yet to come to market and if the price trend is this… They’re straight outbecause their GPUs are not better, faster or cooler than those of AMD and NVIDIA, and if they are more expensive, the reality that Intel must face is not going to like it at all.
