We knew that the test version of The Sims 5 (Project Rene) had been hacked with the possibility of creating direct passes to the test without passing any type of validation by EA. The hack was not shared publicly, but we imagined that sooner or later we would see the first leaks about it. It was inevitable.
Will we have apartments?
The filtration is made up of various photographs made directly to a screen (they are not even screenshots) and show a small preview of what the interiors of the houses will look like. We can see how the interiors are much more customizable, as EA itself announced in the broadcast it did a few weeks ago, however, the most interesting thing is on the outside.
As the images show, it seems that the city in which we will live with our sims will have more volume than eversince it will be made up of large apartment buildings where our apartment will be located.
But before you think that we can navigate between floors and visit hundreds of neighbors, it is most likely that all those buildings only serve to store one house per block (the icon that appears in the image makes it clear).

Let’s remember that Project Rene is nothing more than a premature development phase of the future Sims 5, so if there are things that don’t fit you, it’s normal. This is nothing more than an enlarged sketch, although it is true that the appearance does not seem to be too bad, so we may not be far from the final result of the game.
The screenshots also show that the test mode was the construction mode, since there were no sims involved in the environment. However, considering that most Sims fans have a blast building and designing interiors, these screenshots will be music to your ears.
When will The Sims 5 come out?
But don’t be nervous. There’s still a long way to go to see The Sims 5 in stores, and when we say a lot, we mean at least two years. The game is still a development project (Project Rene) and considering everything that EA plans to cover (cross-platform play on PC and mobile) the development will most likely be quite extensive.
For that reason, we don’t see The Sims 5 before 2024 in stores, as otherwise they would have reported 2023 as the release date, even if they didn’t specify a month.
