Lenovo introduced a gaming smartphone with SSD storage

Major tech giant Lenovo, as you may know, is no stranger to dedicated gaming smartphones. And, apparently, now the company is completely determined to survive in the all-out war of specifications, which just defines the corresponding category. Authoritative publication Engadget Chinese reports that Lenovo has shared early details regarding its Legion Phone Y90, a branded third-generation gaming smartphone.

And, apparently, it is the memory of the device in this case that is the main trump card and advantage of the company. While the “base” models of a variety of smartphones come with 256 gigabytes of conventional UFS 3.1 flash memory paired with 12 or 16 gigabytes of RAM, the most powerful Legion Phone Y90 model is capable of 18 gigabytes of RAM, as well as, most interestingly, , will ship with a RAID 0 storage strip that combines a 128GB SSD with 512GB of standard UFS 3.1 flash. So now we can say with confidence that you and I will not have to wait too long for the download of games.

Speaking of other specs, the 6.9-inch 1920×1080 AMOLED screen with a 144Hz refresh rate is already familiar to all existing second generation Legion owners. However, even the screen still received at least one important innovation – a brightness of 1,300 nits. Well, the presence of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, which is on board, will not surprise anyone at all, because gaming smartphones can always boast the most powerful and advanced hardware. However, Lenovo has opted to ditch the 44MP pop-up selfie camera this time around in favor of a 16MP over-screen camera.

You’ll still find dual fans and vapor chamber cooling, and charging won’t be a problem between the power bank with two 5,600mAh batteries, two USB-C ports, and the included 68W GaN fast charger. Unfortunately, for now, the tech giant has decided not to mention at least an approximate release date or price, although they can very likely be presented as part of the upcoming Lenovo Mobile World Congress press conference, which will take place tomorrow – February 28th. The Legion Phone Y90 was originally intended for mainland China, but it won’t be a big surprise if the device does make it to other markets, albeit under a different name.
