What is this monitor for?
With a size of 32 inches, its panel offers a 4K resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels with a refresh rate of 60 Hz. It is a generous monitor in inches, and curiously it does not include a fixed base to let it rest on a table, but its default support is a vertical arm that must be adjusted on the edge of table.
This peculiarity allows us to see a bit of its mobility intentions, a mobility that will always be conditioned by its generous dimensions, but that will allow you to place it anywhere, especially because of its connectivity.
This is where the port comes into play. USB-C that dominates the rest of the connections. And it is that through this 65W port we can power the monitor, being able to simply connect it to a MacBook so that the screen starts working.
With remote control, Smart TV and AirPlay
But it is his entertainment facet where he ends up drawing attention completely. This screen takes web OS as an operating system, so it works like any of the Smart TVs that LG has in its catalog (but without antenna input, of course). As is usual with the brand, this operating system is accompanied by the Magic Remote, a remote control with an accelerometer with which you can navigate the interface by moving a pointer on the screen with simple wrist movements.
Obviously you can make use of streaming services such as Netflix and Prime Video, and for this it also includes two 5W speakers so you don’t need extra speakers. And finally, the possibility of taking the image of an iOS or macOS device through air play two.
The function ThinQ Home of the operating system raises the idea of being able to control your smart devices from an interface that centralizes everything you have domotized at home. The idea is interesting, but the reality is that not all products support this interface and you won’t be able to control everything unless you’re looking for things specifically supported by the platform.
A very complete monitor for a very low profile
The qualities of the monitor are exceptional, however, its audience could be quite scarce. It is a proposal that we have already been able to see in other brands such as Samsung with its Smart Monitor, and that is looking for users who also use the desktop computer as an entertainment device. The 32-inch size can act as a television in small rooms or studios, so the idea is very interesting, but as we say, with its price of 500 dollars (we imagine that it will be 500 or 550 euros), it is possible that many opt for something cheaper.
