LG presents DualUP, a monitor designed for developers

LG has announced a monitor with an aspect ratio really curious: 16:18. Its about LG DualUP, thought for example so that when it is placed in a vertical position it is not necessary to scroll to be able to see the complete content of a web page in it. This monitor, due to its ratio, instead of having the typical panoramic and rectangular screen with a 16: 9 ratio of the vast majority of monitors, has a square one. Thanks to this, both developers and those who want to see a web page at once and without scrolling can do so.

From the company they point out that the DualUP works in a similar way to how two small monitors would do it, placed vertically one on top of the other. It incorporates a 27.6-inch screen with a resolution of 2560 x 2880 and brightness of 300 nits, and is equipped with Nano IPS technology, which allows it to cover 98% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. It also has a response time of 5 milliseconds. The screen is equivalent to two 21.5-inch panels joined vertically, and has a vertical split function that expands the viewing possibilities for its users.

The LG DualUP includes an arm, much like a VESA mount, to mount on it. According to the company, this arm «Increase user comfort with the LG Ergo ultra-adjustable stand, which saves space on the one hand, and sits securely on most tables and desks on the other«. The company also ensures that, since with it it is not necessary to place two monitors next to each other as happens on the desks of many developers, the neck of the user does not suffer as much.

This monitor incorporates a USB-C cable with 96 watts of power and data. It also has two HDMI ports, DisplayPort, a USB hub, and two built-in 7-watt speakers. For now it is not known what price it will have, although it is possible that it will be known throughout the CES.
