Logitech’s portable console is the subject of a major leak revealing its design, which is reminiscent of that of the Nintendo Switch Lite.

At the beginning of August, Logitech announced a partnership with Tencent for the development of a new portable console, centered on cloud gaming. But the manufacturer had shown itself to be stingy with information on its technical data sheet or its design, and today it is the renowned leaker Evan Blass who is responsible for sharing the first visuals of the machine. The images were quickly deleted by Twitter at Logitech’s request, but the internet remembers.

The design of the Logitech G Gaming portable console does not necessarily convey a premium impression. We seem far from the finishes of a Valve Steam Deck for example, to get closer to a Nintendo Switch Lite aesthetic. The device seems rather compact, making it easier to hold, and opts for a predominantly neutral color based on white, with a few touches of yellow on certain buttons.

We don’t know the size of the screen, but it doesn’t look very big, surrounded by thick black borders. We note that the analog sticks are asymmetrical, and that the positioning of the different elements respects the codes of the genre, the players will not be lost at this level.

  • On the left, we have a stick at the top, a directional cross at the bottom, as well as a menu key.
  • On the right, the A, B, X, Y buttons are located at the top and the joystick at the bottom.

A system of double triggers is also integrated into the product, another essential of a good modern controller. As far as the interface is concerned, we see shortcuts leading to cloud gaming applications such as GeForce Now or Xbox Cloud Gaming (through Game Pass Ultimate). Stadia is not present on the leaked visual. On the other hand, we have the support of other services such as the Play Store, Steam, Chrome or YouTube.

At first glance, the advantages of using this console rather than its smartphone equipped with a controller are not obvious, especially if it is confirmed that it only offers Wi-Fi compatibility for connectivity.
