Lovecraft Country 2 will not be done and some details about the new episodes ends up on the net

In a move that left everyone surprised, HBO decided to cancel the Lovecraft Country 2, the second season of the horror series signed by Misha Green.

The network revealed it a few hours ago, stating:

“We will not go ahead with a second season of ‘Lovecraft Country’. We are grateful for the dedication and artistry of the talented cast and crew, and for Misha Green, who crafted this groundbreaking series. And to the fans, thank you for joining us on this journey ”.

After the unexpected announcement (considering that the series seemed to have gone particularly well with the ratings), its creator began sharing on social networks a preview of what we would see in the second season of the series, the title of which was to be Lovecraft: Country Supremacy.

Lovecraft Country 2 has been canceled

Through her official Twitter profile, Green shared an image of the continental United States divided into four nations, which would have been the backdrop to the events told in the new episodes. There was also a 75-page guide created for the second season of Lovecraft Country, but no script had yet been written for what would be a season consisting of a total of 10 episodes.

Here is the tweet:

The show’s first season, based on Matt Ruff’s novel of the same name, followed the story of 25-year-old Atticus Black (Jonathan Majors), who joins her friend Letitia “Leti” Dandridge (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) and uncle George (Courtney B. Vance) on a journey through 1950s America. Here the group must survive and overcome both the racist terrors of white America and the evil spirits that have emerged from the horror stories of HP Lovecraft.

The cast also included Michael K. Williams, Aunjanue Ellis, Wunmi Mosaku, Abbey Lee and Jamie Chung.

The second season would go beyond the story told in the source material but, apparently, we will never know more than that.
