Lucasfilm: Kathleen Kennedy’s contract renewed until 2024

While many fans are wondering about the real reasons that prompted Patty Jenkins to temporarily put aside the idea of making the new film by Star Wars, Rogue Squadron, Lucasfilm seems to have renewed the contract a Kathleen Kennedy until 2024.

The contract to Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm, renewed until 2024

Kathleen Kennedy will therefore be the president of Lucasfilm for at least another three years, despite the numerous rumors that in the past they wanted her one step away from being fired (or, more simply, that her contract would not be renewed at the time of the expiry. ).

Apparently that’s not going to be the case, and Disney seems determined to have her in its ranks for a while longer to manage Lucasfilm and, in particular, the Star Wars franchise.

Although not everyone liked the new films in the saga, it must be remembered that four of the five major Star Wars films, those made under the direction of Kennedy, have grossed over $ 1 billion each at the box office. And then there is The Mandalorian, the series that appears to have saved the Disney + video streaming service from an untimely death (although perhaps we have Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni to thank for this show).

So it’s easy to see why Mickey decided to renew Kathleen Kennedy’s contract.

Lucasfilm is currently developing several live-action projects and there are also three films in development by Kevin Feige, Taika Waititi and maybe, Patty Jenkins.
