“Magic” Johson will also have a space on Apple TV + like Kevin Durant

Apple TV + has just announced that it already has the next protagonist of a new documentary series that will be made up of four parts that focuses on the life and career of NBA player Earvin “Magic” Johnson.

There is currently no trailer available and we do not know when it will debut on the streaming service. This documentary will be added to the series already available on Apple TV + about the life of another of the NBA stars, like Kevin Durant.

Magic is two-time Hall of Fame inductee NBA player and a cultural icon, with accomplishments on and off the court. This next series will take a look at all of them, including where they started in the basketball world.

After announcing that he was infected with AIDS, Magic Johnson became a voice for people with this disease and changed the whole conversation around him. During his time in the NBA, Magic won five championship rings with the Los Angeles Lakers.

In recent years, Magic Johson has become a successful businessman and activist. In the press release in which Apple has announced this new series d, documentary, we can read:

A new production from Slate Ventures and XTR, the four-part docuseries will explore the remarkable accomplishments and global impact of Johnson’s life, both on and off the court. From humble beginnings in Lansing, Michigan, to becoming a five-time NBA champion with the Los Angeles Lakers, he changed the conversation about AIDS and emerged as a successful community activist and businessman. Featuring never-before-seen footage and interviews with Magic, powerhouses of business and politics, and those in their inner circle, the series will offer an unprecedented look at one of the sports greats of all time.

Rick Famuyiwa is in the direction of this series of 4 chapters, with cinematographer Rachel Morrison behind the camera.
