The provider of payment solutions for marketplaces and platforms has announced the opening of its Tech Hub in Madrid, a center dedicated to innovation and for which 25 engineers and IT specialists will be hired. The opening of this center, the first outside France, aims to attract Mediterranean talent to work on cutting-edge technologies and improve MANGOPAY’s back office. The opening of this Tech Hub is part of the French fintech’s development plan to boost its growth.
The scaleup, which currently provides services to more than 2,500 marketplaces, including Wallapop, Perfumes Club, Vinted, Chrono24, Carrefour, Malt and Galeries Lafayette, continues its investment plan to accelerate its growth in the Mediterranean market, a strategic region. With this launch, the company increases its investment in the Iberian market and turns the Madrid office into a growth engine for the future of the scaleup in Spain. Two years after the opening of the office in this country, the objective of this Tech Hub is to support and strengthen the growth of the scaleup and reinforces the company’s ambitions, both in the Iberian and European markets.
A key location for international development
MANGOPAY chooses Madrid for their good quality of life, which is crucial for attracting qualified talent from around the world. In addition, the proximity to the South and Western European talent market in technical disciplines, as well as the good connections with Mediterranean countries, including Italy, a key market for the company, were determining factors in the decision to locate and establish this technology center in Madrid.
The fintech, which currently has 260 employeesplans to double its size (500 professionals) by the end of 2023. This new technology hub in Madrid will allow MANGOPAY to reach this milestone, making the Spanish team grow from 11 people to 35. To do this, this technology hub plans to recruit 25 new employees in the coming weeks.
The scaleup is mainly looking for IT profiles, both junior and senior, who want to join the technical challenge, with the aim of promoting the platform economy across European borders. New hires will be responsible for improve internal stack of the MANGOPAY solution, achieving a balance between efficiency and “customer centricity” to improve the user experience. In fact, the Madrid team will focus mainly on the development of functionalities to consolidate the solution and ensure that transactions are even safer and easier for our customers.
