New capacities after a round of financing of more than 50 million
The appointment coincides with the recent closing of the financing round B-series from UnaBiz, with more than 50 million dollars (more than 47 million euros). The funding round has been led by SPARX Group. The new financing has been carried out under the same conditions as the original Series B, from October 2021.
“I am proud to lead this project and bring 0G closer to the reality of Spanish companies”says Manuel Álvarez. «Our approach, based on a compact and optimized protocol, is specifically designed for IoT communications and has been designed to attack the main fronts that slow down the deployment of IoT in Spain, through low energy consumption, simplicity, low cost and wide reach. ».
Founded by two French professionals in 2016 in Singapore, UnaBiz is reinforcing its role as a European technology player with more than 125 employees at its headquarters in Paris and at its R&D center in Labège. The company currently employs 240 people worldwide. At the beginning of the year, the company acquired Sigfox technology, a fundamental component of the 0G network cores deployed by more than 70 operators around the world that connect more than 10 million sensors for more than 1,500 B2B clients.
Following a six-month post-acquisition period dedicated to integrating Sigfox technology, UnaBiz will invest in developing innovative 0G solutions for sustainability. These solutions will be dedicated to its four main markets: smart metering (remote meter reading), facility management (connected buildings), logistics (asset tracking) and security.
