Marantz Model 40n, new integrated amplifier with streaming services

All-in-one solutions to which we only have to add a few speakers are becoming very fashionable in the HiFi world. And this is precisely what the new Marantz Model 40n, an integrated amplifier compatible with streaming services with “style” Marantz. This new model shares an aesthetic very similar to that of the Model 30 integrated amplifier, with a clear “industrial design” away from more modern designs, such as the Cambridge Audio Evo 75 for example.

So that, on the front we have several control dials, in addition to the two main ones of greater size. It is a design that is sure to please many, but it is currently not easy to find, since manufacturers tend towards minimalism and the use of larger screens. And it is that the Marantz Model 40n sports the well-known “porthole” screen of Marantz devices, so loved and hated at the same time.

Although they are similar in design, the Marantz Model 40n has a big difference with the Model 30: the addition of the streaming function. This new model will go on sale next March in two finishes: Marantz Black (black) and Silver Gold (silver with gold accents). Let’s take a look at everything the new Marantz Model 40n has to offer.

To incorporate the streaming function the manufacturer has chosen to integrate the HEOS platform. Thanks to this platform, the Marantz Model 40n not only supports Spotify Connect, Amazon Music and Tidal, it also provides access to high-resolution personal file libraries, up to PCM 192 kHz/24 bits, as well as DSD up to 5.6 MHz. Also included is support for Apple AirPlay 2 and connectivity Bluetooth and Wi-Fi; and it even supports voice control via Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa.

Under the hood of the Marantz Model 40n we find a Class A/B amplifier offering a total output of 70W per channel. According to the manufacturer, it has been internally designed to minimize the effects of external interference.
